Poetry in Motion: The Evolution and Development of Italian Hand

Heather Held will be joining us again this season to share her passion for the pointed pen. Join us for our February Member Program.

Reaching back as far as the 1560’s until its eventual demise in the early 1900’s, Italian Hand spanned the globe. This practical hand was widely interpreted and could be highly flourished or delicately understated. Practitioners describe the hand as playful, joyful and exuberant. The lecture presentation will examine the distinctives of historic Italian Hand while finding ways to add it to our pointed pen experience. We will celebrate the grace and beauty of this misunderstood and often overlooked hand.
