December Play Day
Folding card demonstration
Anne will demonstrate step-by-step instructions for a folded card (simple book). No glue or stitching needed. You need one or 2 sheets of copy paper for practice and a sheet of not-to-heavy rectangular paper. Paper should be a rectangle of any proportion, card stock or not-too-heavy watercolor paper, Arches text wove, or whatever paper you like to work with.
There will be some time to talk about decorating your paper, so you are encouraged to have handy any pens, markers, paint, collage you like to work with.
A butter knife or bone folder or pencil might be helpful too for folding.
Introduction to Neuland
Sally will demonstrate a Neuland hand. No, this isn’t something done with a pointed tool (our theme for this year). On the contrary, it is a bold, “chunky” lettering style and because of that - it really contrasts well with script or other delicate hands done with a pointed tool.
Have handy your favorite practice paper and a large broad-edged tool. Least fussy & messy for this quick demo is a large parallel pen or large chisel edged marker, but any of your favorite broad-edged tool is fine to use. Larger the better to get these letterforms really bold.
