“That bucket list is a pesky thing,” said Anne, “so with no imminent death threat other than Covid, I took off for three weeks on a Calligraphic Pilgrimage in England to study illumination with one of the greats, visit manuscripts that changed the world (or at least my world), find the gravestone of Edward Johnston, have tea in Lydd and ogle Irene Wellington’s work with the major, and roam cathedrals, calligraphic centers and libraries in a quest to find, see and experience art in real life. Join me on my journey in this lively lecture with all the fun and crazy of trying to find history that others have forgotten, think is ordinary, or getting dirty with!”
Anne Kaese is a calligrapher and watercolorist in Fargo ND.
