Though I had never studied with him, over the years I'd heard much about the wonderful classroom / workshop experience Reggie Ezell provides. With an unusually devoted fanbase(!), I've always been curious about this experienced teacher.
HE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Through the engaging presentation 'Gilding: A Personal Overview', he walked us through his many areas of knowledge: tools, materials and techniques, personal work, students' work, and his own influences (Jackson, Ingmire, etc.). His journey with the calligraphic community involves so many great stories, memories and 'institutional knowledge'.
Q & A naturally followed, where he easily handled questions regarding trickier expert hacks with broader beginner-level questions. Truly something for everyone. I left feeling even more confident about taking on this next step in my own creative development.
