Format Update: The Colleagues of Calligraphy Board met in mid-April, and our mid-May Program will be held online. Details are being sent to our email list in early May, with instructions on how to access the program.
The focus of the May program will be an Annual Meeting for Colleagues of Calligraphy, and a few fun activities. Plan to grab your favorite pen, paper, and ink on hand, gather your own refreshments, and “tune in” for our gathering to connect with us.
A Demo Corner will begin at 12:30pm, where Karen Eighmy plans to demonstrate calligraphy using a pointed brush.
Those who attend are also invited to bring calligraphy to “Show and Share.” The cover image for this event is a “Pine Tree Exercise” from JWSA winner Georgia Greeley.
We had been planning to hear a presentation on Jo White Scholarship Award (JWSA) 2019 recipients Georgia Greeley and Alex Glowka and how they were able to invest the scholarship funds in their calligraphic development. For various reasons related to the virus situation, their full presentations to our guild are postponed until a later date (TBD when). However, at this May 2020 Program, these two members are welcome to give a brief “show and share” if desired. Read more about these awards.
At this free program, visitors may attend to see if they would like to join our guild. If you know a visitor who would like to attend, please contact someone on our board so we could email an invitation to them. Read more about our normal rhythm of programs and workshops.
