This is a FREE in-person event taking place at Nelson Park, 2500 Georgia Ave S; St Louis Park, MN 55416. No need to register!

For this year’s Annual Meeting, we will be gathering OUTSIDE at Nelson Park!

Gather at the park (mask and social distance as you are comfortable)

We have secured the sheltered space in the park. We will have access to bathrooms and a place to display shared work if you so desire.

• Brief reports and updates from your Board of Directors

• Announcing of new Board members

• Sharing - you are invited to bring anything calligraphic you’ve been working on

• There will be a Give-away table!

• Reed gathering & cutting with member Janey Westin - this part is completely outdoors - rain or shine!

• There will be places to sit here and there - but if you are concerned about being on your feet for any length of time - please bring your own chair!

Reed Harvesting and Reed Pen Making

We will meet up at Nelson Park in St. Louis Park ( west side of Peter Hobart Elementary School ). After a brief meeting, anyone interested can take a pleasant 1/3 mile stroll on the North Cedar Lake Regional Trail.

Our destination is a phragmites (frag-my-tee) reed patch where we will harvest the reeds to make our own supply of reed pens.

Rain or shine :) Dress accordingly.

If you choose to participate, you are asked to bring the following (somethings can be shared if comfortable with sharing):

For harvesting reeds - a jack-knife (pocket knife)

For making reed-pen:

• x-act-o knife (#11)

• quill knife OR a pen knife

• pad of paper

• tweezers

• favorite ink and brush to load pen
