The Colleagues of Calligraphy are excited to welcome guest artist and renowned calligrapher Carl Rohrs. On the Friday, April 16, 2021, Carl will deliver a presentation: Scripts & Script Typefaces and Back Again.
Script typefaces can start as calligraphy, a quick sketch, or a dashed-off handwritten note.
Once letters become a typeface, is that necessarily the end of its creative trail? Can't it still inspire more handwork? Many modern day calligraphers, sign writers, and lettering artists think it still can.
This program will include original and unseen work of Menhart, Reiner, Trump, Kapr, Koch, Zapf, Toots, Excoffon, Korger, Schumann, and more.
