Once letters become a typeface, is that necessarily the end of its creative trail? Can't it still inspire more handwork? Many modern day calligraphers, sign writers, and lettering artists think it still can.
We will start this program with some Colleagues’ news and updates. Then at 1PM, Dennis will share some of his expertise on this king of writing implements.
Members Maura Lynch and Sally Wightkin will share some highlights of their week spent in the Waters’ studio in September 2019.
The April program has been canceled. Script typefaces can start as calligraphy, a quick sketch, or a dashed-off handwritten note. We were planning to host Carl Rohrs at this Friday program to look at the beginnings of some scripts, and considers whether they still inspire creative handwork.
